Samal Play is a small arcade of 2D browser games. Nothing to install and no account to make. A game is one page, and a friend joins it with four letters.

Free, with no ads and nothing to sign up for. Keyboard, mouse or controller.

01 · Games

The games

Each game lives on its own page, at its own address. Pick one and you are playing within seconds.

02 · How it works

How it works

No launcher, no patch day, nothing to keep updated.

  1. Open the pageA game is a single page. It loads in a second, and it still runs when your connection drops.
  2. Share four lettersHosting a match gives you a code. Anyone who types it joins you, on any device, from anywhere.
  3. PlayThe server runs the match and sends each player only what their own character can see.

03 · Controllers

Plug in a controller

Both games take a gamepad. Nothing is installed, the browser hands the game the sticks and the buttons, and the pad is only read while a game is open.

  1. Pair itPair the controller with your computer over Bluetooth, or plug it in with a cable. A PlayStation DualSense pairs by holding Create and the PS button until the light bar flashes.
  2. Press a buttonOpen a game and press any button on the pad. A browser hides controllers until you do, so this one press is what makes it appear.
  3. PlayLeft stick runs, right stick aims. Triggers and face buttons do the rest, rumble works where the browser supports it, and every button can be rebound under Options.
DualSense · DualShock · Xbox · Switch Pro · USB

What works

DualSense and DualShock, Xbox pads, the Switch Pro controller and most USB gamepads. Chrome, Edge, Opera and Safari support them fully; Firefox covers the basics.

No drivers, no pairing to us

Gamepad support is a browser feature. Nothing is installed, no device is registered with anyone, and the games read the pad only while you are playing.

04 · The studio

Built small on purpose

Three rules the studio keeps, because they are what make a game load in a second and still feel fair.

No accounts, no ads

Nothing is asked of you and no account is ever made. Your settings stay in your own browser, and anonymous visit counting is off until you allow it.

The server decides

Every match is simulated on the server, which tells each player only what they can see. A modified client gains nothing.

Almost no dependencies

Hand-written canvas rendering and a single networking library. That is why a whole game weighs less than most web pages.

05 · Questions

Questions

What is Samal Play?

A small collection of 2D games that run in a browser tab. They are made by Samal Studios and they are free to play.

Do I need to install anything or make an account?

No. Open the page and play. You can install a game to your home screen if you want it offline, but nothing is required.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Host a match, send the four-letter code, and your friends join from their own browsers. You can also fill the match with computer players.

Can I use a PlayStation or Xbox controller?

Yes. Pair it over Bluetooth or plug it in, open a game and press any button, the browser does the rest. Rumble works where the browser supports it, and every button can be rebound.

Does it work on a phone?

The pages work everywhere. The games are built for a keyboard, a mouse or a controller, so a laptop or desktop is the best way to play.

What does it cost?

Nothing. There are no ads, no purchases and no premium tier.

Pick a game and go

Both run right here in this tab. Neither will ask you for anything.
